How to get villagers in minecraft?

When i created the world i got spawned into a relatively flat one and not far from me was this little village. It had quite a few villagers in it. I eventually built a little house and a farm. I don't know if villagers from the little village came over to my house or they spawned there. But now they're gone. Even went over to the lil village where most of them were and the place is deserted. Is there a way to get them back? It feels empty without them.

Added (1). i'm playing ps3 survival hard mode

Make it creative mode, spawn villager

There are are couple of options for you. First of all, if you were playing in Easy/Medium/Hard mode, zombies ARE attracted to villagers and will ignore you if they see a villager so they might have killed your villagers. If you are in peaceful mode, make sure there are no mines around the village for villagers fall in the mines near their homes. If they are not in the mines or they got killed by zombies, hunt down a zombie villager, (when zombies spawn there's a 10% chance that it will have a villager like skin), trap it in a confined area, right click on it with a golden apple, and give it a splash potion of weakness. Watch it closely. It will start shaking more and more until it becomes a normal villager. IF none of these ideas work, click LAN in your ESC screen, set your game mode to creative with cheats, spawn in villagers with villager spawn eggs, do /gamemode survival, disconnect from your world, re-enter it, and say hi to new villagers.
