Me and some friends were thinking about buying a realm. However, I'm the only one who has actually purchased the game. If I buy a realm, will they be able to play in it as well?

Nope. They need the game to be able to get into the realm! (as you enter realms through the main menu of the game).
Also, if they don't have the game, where do they thinbk the game data will come from?
