How to make fire in minecraft pe?

My cousin and i have been looking it up but nothing has worked.

To make a fire in Minecraft PE, you need two things: an iron ingot and some flint. There should be an option to make Flint and Steel under the "Tools" category.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this the first time, but when you tap something with the flint and steel in your hand, it lights on fire. To test it out, do it to a tree. The tree will burn down, lol.
