Need advice on my desktop I'm going to be building?

Earlier in the summer I was planning on building a new desktop to last me until I could fully replace my gaming PC. Unfortunately I had to settle for a laptop due to issues arising and now I'm wondering what I should do as far as working on replacing the system. I have two options:

I found out my mobo still works, it's FM2. I also have a single stick of DDR3 1600 RAM, as well as a Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB HDD, an MSi GTX 750 1GB, and an EVGA 500-B 500w PSU. Obviously this all means I could just buy a new APU/Athlon and call it good, as well as a case.

Obviously the other option is build an entirely new system. If I go this route I will be going AMD again most likely so I will probably just bump up to FM2+ and get an Athlon 860K.

My idea for the FM2 option was getting an Athlon X4 760K and the CoolerMast MasterCase 5. For the FM2+ option I was thinking the Athlong X4 860K, the Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-UP4, and the same case as with the FM2 option. The main uses would be basic internet stuff, and games like Minecraft, Steam games like Darksiders 2 and Spider Man: Web of Shadows, and some console emulators. I will also need a new HDMI monitor, preferrably 20" or less, If anyone has some suggestions on other possible options, please let me know!

Need more information.
The motherboard needs to be identified, not just FM2
How much ram in GB?
The case you show is too expensive for the parts you show.
What about Windows operating system?
Would not go 860K if getting a new motherboard and generally not FM2+
If the 750K or 760K is supported, get that and a cheap computer case.
If the ram is 4gb, it will need match to make 8gb
Would probably get a decent cpu cooler.
Would also be a little bigger on the monitor.
Anything below 23", probably a used one from Craigslist
760K from an ebay seller - keep it under $65

You are starting with low budget parts - you either build a low budget PC, or sell them and start again.
You state "planning on building a desktop pc" but the right way to do it is getting all parts at the same time.
WD Green 500 is a bad choice. FM2 socket MB was a bad choice. Unnamed single stick of ram. PSU is OK. Graphics card was a big sale price.
Does the motherboard support front panel USB3?
Is it ATX or uATX?
XION XON-560 is a nice little uATX case now $30 after rebate:

Galaxy-02 is bigger at $40

APU is pretty good if you only care the game to run on medium setting at lower resolution (1280x720). The best one is AMD A10-7850K. When you buy an APU, you do not need a GPU to run games. The games can be run at a pretty decent FPS, probably about 35 FPS. And the power supply watt is small also. Probably a 300 watt would be enough. You also need a motherboard that has a HDMI port. For mobo, I prefer MSI or Asrock. They are both very good and have a good durability.
