I overclocked my i5-2500k from 3.3GHz to 3.5GHz and my RAM from 1333MHz to 1600MHz using the Asus P8Z68-v Pro/Gen3. When I go into windows, the CPU is using around 50%, as it says in task manager. When starting CPU-Z, it says 3500MHz for a second, and then it turns into 1600MHz. Why is this happening? I tried to use ASUS AI Suite II, and the same thing happened. I feel like the pc is very unstable, because it's lagging on Minecraft, and I have the Geforce GTX 680 4GB Graphics card. I get the beep from the speaker when I turn on the computer, and that means the hardware is okay, right? Any help/suggestions?
My CPU automatically goes from 3.5GHz to 1.7GHz?

Disable Intel SpeedStep in BIOS.

It happen's to me in Windows 8 with the Sabertooth 990fx all the time, with the FX6300
It only happens when the computer is idle and doesn't need much clock speeds, not a bad thing really.
