What's the best Gaming PC build for under $500?

Hi! I'm looking into building a gaming PC since I've heard it's best to build one rather than buy one. However, I'm looking for PC Parts which all in total would cost me around $500. My Family doesn't have much money to spend more than $600.

Here are some PC Games i play often:

1. Counter-Strike Series
2. Grand Theft Auto IV <-- (one of the reasons for new pc)
3. Garry's Mod (can barely play at about 20 fps.)
4. Minecraft

Not only i need a new pc just so i can get these games to run in great performance, but also because I'm into multimedia! I Make Youtube Gaming Videos, and I'm also into Game Programming. However i can't do much of those 2 in this current pc i'm using.

Especially, Grand Theft Auto IV. One of the 2nd games i play often, but i can only run it at 17 fps on the lowest setting and i also get disconnected in multiplayer often because of the lag.

Anyone have any recommendations on what pc parts i should get to get both my media work and GTA IV to run at a great performance without any trouble?

A good graphics card would probably take up more than half of that budget.

A good gaming computer would probably be at least $800-1000. You'd be better off buying some Alienware stuff, their laptops are customizable to an extent and cheap for what they are.

Macbook.

My last build was 350$ look for.austin evans pc build tutorials on youtube. The amd quad processor is going up and down but check out his videos.

I'd recommend the CyberPower Gaming Battalion 502. It costs $499 and is a pretty good deal for what you get.
