Any tech themed mods for Minecraft 1.6.4?

Please no comments like,"minecraft sucks play a real game," I have had quite enough of that.

Me and my friends are tired of Tekkit, so I offered to compile a few mods and make my own tech themed modpack, I figure that since it's for personal use I don't really need to worry about permissions. We had the most fun in tekkit planning out the layouts of pipes and machines, an making complex redstone devices, and factorizing everything so we want some tech themed mods in the pack

I already have IC2, computercraft, and buildcraft.

Any suggestions?

Minecraft Shader's mod crashed?

So, I'm trying to install the shader's mod for my minecraft 1.7.5 and when I download it, it says that it has crashed and that I do not have the latest version of forge for it. I've been following the instructions on the Minecraft Forums and it will NOT work! I could really use some help, and that's why I came here. Reply as soon as possible!

Why won't the optifine mod install on minecraft?

For mod users only! When ever I play minecraft Its so laggy and I read that it helps with the lag, so I decided to get the optifine mod. But the thing is, The installer on the link doesn't work. I always use that certain installer but this time I click install and all it does is "download" then says and I quote "Optifine Mod Installed" then I look on the install button and is says install mod. It doesn't say Optifine mod installed. Please help I'm getting tired of the lag and I need some help!

What yogscast video is it?

I have been trying to find a yogscast minecraft video of Lewis, Simon and i think Duncan of them doing an RPG mod of minecraft. All i remember in their 1st video was that they got attacked by a fast snake like creeper. Can someone help me find this please?

Minecraft twisted textures glitch?

All the entities in my Minecraft game (mobs, chests, the player) have this problem where the faces of the entities will twist to the wrong corners of the cubes, making it look like they've collapsed in on themselves. I don't use mods and the problem persists with or without texture packs.

Added (1). Tried deleting.minecraft and it doesn't seem to work.

Can you play Minecraft on Windows Eight?

Again! So i've recently bought a Windows 8(I think it's a acer aspire azc602 I don't know but it is a acer aspire.). I currently have windows seven i've heard windows 8 is a piece of s… But I wanted to test it out for myself. My uncle is coming over on Friday to actually plug the computer in and start it etc. And I normally have heaps of games I like to play on my PC rather than xbox/playstations etc. Currently installed I have MW3, Minecraft etc. And I was wondering if games like as graphic is compatible with windows 8? Oh and if it can play minecraft does it run smoothly like no lag and what are the highest settings I can play as? And I have no idea if it's a 32 or 64 bit so will I be able to play on Far render distance. AND NO I do not want to buy separate parts and mod my computer.

Minecraft+should i use texture packs?

I'm playing around with texture packs and I'm not sure if I really enjoy them. I'm so used to the default textures that I can barely tell what any of the items are without hovering them. I've so far tried john smith legacy and pixel perfect packs. Both have good overall textures minus a few quirks with ore or mobs.

Should I bother using texture packs? Or should I just get the optifine mod to improve the default textures? I hear that the mod improves fps also so that maybe wouldn't be a bad option
