Can you add NPCs in minecraft?

I'm talking about the ps3 edition here. So no mods or anything like that, just in the standard game.

this is where i don't see the point of minecraft. You take hours of building something such as a city, then that's it. Like, what is the point to it? The only reason i'd see there being a point is if you could add NPCs and make them do things. So can you? What else is there to do once you've build what you wanted?

There already are NPCs. Minecraft sometimes generates a village on pains or desert boime. You cand trade stuff with them. There also are some goals in the game. When you pause the game there's the achievement button. And there also are two bosses in the game; Ender Dragon and Wither. Getting to those bosses takes some time too. You can also set personal achievements for yourself to complete.

If your in creative mode then you can get the NPC spawn eggs(this is in xbox) and just throw it where you want and they will spawn. If your in survival then your screwed. You may not even have spawn eggs on ps3 so you should check first. I've never played the ps3 version so I'm not sure what update y'all on so I just used what I know from the xbox/PC version.

There are in fact spawn eggs for the ps3 version (creative mode only).

Search through the materials you'll see the eggs, you want a villager egg.

You can add villagers and animals in creative mode, but besides that no. You can't control them and make them do any specific actions if that is what you mean
