Okay so I was playing Minecraft version 1.8 and I wanted to install a texture pack, but the version of the pack is not for 1.8. Is there a way to use a old version of a texture pack on a new version of the game?

Yes you can use older texture packs however the new blocks and entities will have default textures. But everything else that was in that version of minecraft will have the new textures from your pack.
