Laptop freezes when playing games

My laptop freezes a lot when playing games. It used to freeze when I had programs like chrome and skype up at the same time, but after doing a fresh reboot on the laptop, that problem went away. However the game freezing still persists. It'd freeze when I play Minecraft, sometimes freezing within 10 minutes. Games like Aion and such do not produce the same problem, I can play hours without a problem. It isn't a heating problem cause sometimes when I open Minecraft, the whole laptop would freeze within 20 minutes of playing.

My laptop is an ASUS, model K501UW Signature Edition running on windows 10 Home.

The specs are:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7- 6500 CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.59 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

For clarification, when the freezing happens, everything stops, even calls. It won't do anything unless I forcefully shut it down. I've tried lowering the RAM usage of Minecraft but the problem still persists.

Most of the time Freeze happen for faulty RAM or Great amount of RAM used by specific application. Sometimes Processor and Graphics card causing the issue.

Here are suggestion you can try--
1. Check your RAM and Processor use when playing Games. To do This
---- Press ALT+CTRL+DELET key togather
---- Then Start Task Manager
---- Go to Performance tab

Check if ram or processor use is almost 100%. If RAM use is neer 100%, then you need to add more RAM.

2. Is Laptop is over heated during Game play? If yes, it is heat causing the issue. If you have warranty, contact warranty service. If your is Expired then contact a technician to clear dust from inside your laptop and change heat sink glue.

Let me know your checking result.
