She gave my son a note yesterday which told me not to let my 6 year old wear this minecraft shirt again because one of the kids in his class cried because he was afraid of the creeper. I'm sorry but shouldnt the parent of that child deal with it? Lol, I think this is ridiculous. My son is autistic and he'll only wear certain shirts based on the feeling of the material, and this is one of the few i could find that he was comfortable wearing, and he loves minecraft and should be able to wear whatever he wants.
Is this teacher crazy? Son isn't allowed to wear a minecraft shirt?
Why should your sons needs come before the needs of another, or the many? I honestly don't know what is right or wrong here. That would come down to the schools dress codes and the impact of whatever, they feel, is one the majority of their students.
Parents should also be teaching their kids EMPATHY… You need to find someone who can teach your child what that is since you are not familiar with it.
Does this other child have a disability also?
Why can't your son wear that shirt on weekends or days off?
I don't believe you can't find other shirts with similar materials.
IT IS NOT THE OTHER PARENTS FAULT… THEY WOULD NOT HAVE RAISED THE KID TO BE AFRAID… THAT IS A BIZARRE NONSENSICAL ACCUSATION… IT HAPPENS>>>>KIDS DEVELOP FEARS… I HAD A HIGHLY IRRATIONAL FEAR BECAUSE OF THE WIZARD OF OZ WHEN I WAS YOUNGER.
YOU HAVE NO EMPATHY FOR THIS OTHER CHILD WHO HAS A REAL FEAR.
I know how difficult it is with autistic kids in fact i'm autistic myself and am a upper 6th at a autistic school many of the lads here will only wear certain clothes and some literally only have 2 sets of the same outfit that they wear every day of the year so i think that it is perfectly reasonable that your child should be allowed to wear whatever makes him comfortable and more relaxed to do some classwork.
Our school systems are the dumbest in the world. Thats why so many now home school to get them out of the garbage liberal school districts.
Yet there are children wearing t'shirts with T'Rexes on?
Yes I do believe it is crazy, and ridiculous. And I'm pretty sure 6 year olds can tell the difference between a real thing and an image on a t'shirt. But obviously some can't. But then again, that kid must have a serious phobia that may distract him from school work, cause anxiety etc.
Anyway, whatever happens, just take note and respect of other kids needs too.
If you can't respect the needs of the other children, why should anyone respect the needs of your child? Let him wear the shirt at home, different shirt at school. And yes, I have an autistic child with sensory (clothing) issues, too.
