Is there a minecraft for Wii U?

I'm trying to find out if there's a minecraft for Wii U. If there's when is the release date?

No, there probably won't ever be Minecraft for wii, 4J studios (Creators of console minecraft) only said PS3, PS4, Xbox 1, Xbox 360, and PS Vita, were going to be made. Follow 4j studios on twitter if you want updates about it.

Mojang hasn't said anything about getting Minecraft on Nintendo platforms. And given how much third party support Nintendo ISN'T getting, I doubt we'll be seeing Minecraft on it any time soon. The GamePad would actually work well with the game though so it could definitely be interesting but playing Minecraft on consoles is confusing to me. The PC version is infinitely better and why anyone would choose a console version over the PC version (which isn't demanding) is beyond me.
