Is the Chrome OS like Windows?

Say, if I want to download Minecraft or Steam for Windows, will it work with the Chrome OS? Because when you download it, I think the only options are Windows, Linux, and Apple.

Chrome is like Linux… Which runs very well on an Asus-

I have an Asus Laptop running Linux Mint--- its flawless- and steam is available for download.
If you are thinking about changing to linux for gaming… You may want to google it. Many do it. But I don't believe Chrome is the way.

Edit: There's Steam OS, Linux Console, and Ubuntu Desktop Pack No, it's more like android.
