Basically, I want to watch movies, listen to music, play minecraft, and do schoolwork. (Essays, presentations and such) but I'm so torn! What should I get?

I would strongly recommend new iPad Mini with the Retina Display. I'm using it and I must say it an amazing device. Worth every penny.

All of these three would do the job perfectly, you won't be feeling like you are could have done any of this stuff better on either. The thing that Kindle Fire HDX offers is the lower price with higher value of stuff, so I would recommend that as the best bang for your buck.

iPad Mini 1 would be good only if you want an apple product only, otherwise it merely has good features. Even the screen resolution is not upto the mark.
iPad Mini 2 on the other hand would give you a better display and overall features but that sky high price is only justified if you have a good amount of budget to spend.
