How to port forward on a verizon router, for minecraft?

Whenever i port-forward my laptop i use a port-forward checker and it says the port is closed help.

You have to check:
1) That the application (MC) is actually running when checking if a port is open
2) Your Windows firewall has to be configured to allow that port inwards as well as any router port forward. Check the firewall…
3) The laptop should be at a static LAN IP address, one that is NOT within the DHCP pool range. Your laptop (MC server) has to be set properly to allow port forwarding to work all the time…
