I can't remember what its actually called because my mind went blank haha but its those things that have rails on the ground and it has fences on the wall i guess to make it appear to hold the ceiling up. I've found one before a while ago by accident but i need a way to try and find one again. Like how far down do i have to go?
How to find those mining things in caves in minecraft?

There called mineshafts, they are usually about level 40 but can go down to bedrock. There's no way to find them other than going into a cave or strip mining.
