How to clear lots of land in Minecraft?

I'm playing geeral survival in minecraft and I'm trying to clear a LOT of land. Any tips or tricks to clear a lot of land?

Just go at it.

There are no great secrets or tricks that can clear a large area besides crafting a LOT of TNT, and even that takes a lot of time. It would be quicker to just start digging.
