Can Windows 10 Be On Vista and XP?

So I'm one of those 18th century people who still somehow have Windows Vista on my PC. My machine is not too decent; 4gb ram and 500gb storage. I can handle games such as WoW, TF2 and Minecraft with minor problems. I'm thinking about upgrading to the latest Windows, (Win 10) since my OS is so old. I tried to go onto the Windows 10 website, which you can upgrade for free, but as I told you, it only works for 7, 8 and 8.1.

I haven't seen any disk versions of Windows 10 yet and that leads to my main question; Can I Get Windows 10 On Vista In Any Way?

Please try to keep it legal; no pirate downloads…

If your system will run it, the disks will become available soon in computer stores. But check the system requirements to be sure that your computer has what is needed to run it. If it is that old and you can afford it, you may be ahead to buy a new computer with it already installed and that way it will be working and you won't be tracing down drivers and such.

Windows 10 follows an upgrade path from a genuine Windows 7 or 8.1 system. You will then have the option to either do a clean install or an upgrade. In short, you can't upgrade from a Vista system.

You could purchase a valid OEM Product Key for Windows 7 and then proceed to download a copy of a Windows 10 Media Creation Tool which downloads to your computer an ISO file or burn onto a USB stick and then install Windows 10.

However, at this writing, I'm now seeing OEM resellers of MS products now selling legitimate Windows 10 product keys. At Frevvy.com you can get a Windows 10 Home product key (full) for $45.99. That, or purchase a Windows 7 product key then upgrade.

Remember what type of previous Windows OS you had will determine what type of Windows 10 upgrade you will be entitled too. See attached.

Good Luck! Can Windows 10 Be On Vista and XP - 1

No - in BOTH cases!

There's no upgrade path from Vista or XP. The free upgrade only works on Win 7 or Win 8.1. The only way you could possibly install Win10 would be if your hardware is compatible to install it, and if so then you will have to buy the full retail version that's sold in stores (box stores or online).

The Vista computer has a good chance of being able to run Win 10. I have an old vista computer at home that I upgraded to Win 7 when it came out, and it met the min resource specs to run it. I installed Win 10 on it and it's running fine.

The XP computer has zero chance of having hardware capable of running Win 10.
