I'm hoping to upgrade my i3 2120 to a x4 760k for gaming. I need a new mobo not sure what one yet but i'm wondering if the x4 760k is any good to join a gtx 650 (going to upgrade that later in the year got a gtx 750 or 760) but i'm looking to play games like bf4 cod minecraft and games like this.
will i be getting decent fps or should i save up for fx 6300 but will take longer?
(i don't really want to upgrade to the fx 6300 for 10-15 more fps)
I have the 750k which is almost the same thing but slower, I get 30-40 fps on BF4 on 1080p with and Radeon HD 7770. I'm pretty sure I would hit constant 60 with a better card. The processor responds pretty good. It doesn't hit ever with my Noctua cooler, and stays at when not doing much work. (47-49 with BF4). Indeed is a nice processor for the price. You'll get a little bit more speed with 760k. I don't know how good is the 650 but if it's better than 7770 then you'll have a great build. Also I have 8Gb which helps. Minecraft can run on a microwave.
