How to setup a Minecraft Server?

I'm not great with computers. I've tried watching various videos on how to do it but NOTHING is working. I just want to be able to play online with people. How did you do it? Got a link to something that works?

You could use hamachi, it's easy to use and you don't need to port forward. But to make people join they need hamachi aswell.
