I need to open port 25565 on my Windows 8 laptop. I went through firewalls and put it on the accepted list in advanced settings, yet I try one of those port checking websites and it fails to go through. I need it open for minecraft servers but it can't find anything on the internet that matches my problem.

Turn windows firewall off then go into your router and enable port forwarding to your local IP and port.

You could download utorrent when that's open your port will be open
