Running DayZ properly on my Asus Q550LF Laptop?

I need some help. I got a new ASUS Q550LF-BBI7T07, which supposedly can be used as a softcore "gaming laptop". It has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 745M Graphics Card, too. Anyways, I started up DayZ earlier tonight, and it just felt like it wasn't meant to run on this machine. The graphics looked TERRIBLE, even after i messed around with them in the settings section of the game. It doesn't make any sense to me because i read in multiple places that this machine should be able to handle games like CS GO, Minecraft, and DayZ fairly easy. Also, a little side note; I couldnt go into 3rd person pov either. Any information you may have can help me, please.

Here's a quick look at the specs: Running DayZ properly on my Asus Q550LF Laptop

Mine is brand new though, unlike the one in the Gyazo.

Try adjusting your fxaa or msaa
and make sure you enable vsync.

oh and check your video card settings and make sure its not on a power save mode ect

That chip is pretty decent

Most laptops with dedicated graphics card also have an integrated chip like an Intel HD 4000 as well which is used to do the simpler tasks like running the general visuals on your computer, videos and pictures etc. Odds are your laptop is defaulting to the integrated chip and not using the GT745 at all.

Right click the desktop and open the Nvidia control panel, click 3D settings and then click the drop down menu which shows the various games and programs installed on your computer. Make sure that all the games are set to use the GT745, if there are games that aren't listed here then click the tab above the drop down menu and change it so the GT745 is the default and all programs will use it. Make sure you have your power options set to High Performance and plug your laptop in when gaming.
