I won't do ez flash because i don't want to open my ps3 up. Is there a way i can do it with a flash drive? If there isent how can i downgrade from 4.70 ofw to 3.55 ofw?

You can't, it's IMPOSSIBLE without a hardware flasher and the PS3 needs to originally have had at least 3.55 to begin with.
