Why is minecraft lagging I have 8gb ram, core i5, gtx 680 and 1 tb hard drive?

I'm not sure about jave I have multiple copies of 64 and 32 bit trying to get it to work. I should be able to run the game on max settings and it is hard to run on minimal settings

What operating system do you use? What graphics driver do you have installed?

I have a GTX660, 8 core AMD FX, 8gb ram, and Minecraft screams.

You should be running only 1 version of java. Both versions may be conflicting with each other, since they operate differently. Make sure you have installed graphics drivers.
