When i connect to a ip address with numbers such as 97.97.202.216.0000 it won't connect, it says unknown host. I know its the right ip. If it is a name, such as woodycraft.net it works fine.

Your IP seems to be formatted wrong. The last 4 numbers are to connect to a specific port, so rather than using a period/full stop, you should use a colon like this:
97.97.202.216:0000
IP addresses have 4 sets of numbers (separated by periods/full stops), and some addresses contain a specific port to connect to which is usually 4 numbers that follow after the IP address and are separated by the IP by a colon.
