Something happened to a file on my minecraft account and I messed up the whole thing. I want to get rid of it and buy it again because I'm super confused on what to do. I want to take it out of my iMac completely. I don't want to screw up again though so what do I do? Sorry I bet I sound dumb but I'm not good with computers.

Go to "run" if you're on windows and search for "%appdata%" then you'll see a folder called ".minecraft" delete that, and you've deleted minecraft entirely.

If you've run Minecraft on your machine, then you do have a.minecraft folder. It can be a bit tricky to find. Here's an easy way to get to it:
Launch Minecraft.
Select "Mods and Texture Packs"
Select "Open Texture Pack folder"
Go up one level

Search your computer for ".minecraft" without the quote signs (you still need the period) and delete it. Then re-install Minecraft (as you don't have to buy it multiple times if you've bought it once) by logging into the Minecraft website and clicking downloads/download.
