I tried using my USB to download maps to play but it didn't work… Will there be an update or DLC involving this?
Will there ever be adventure maps and stuff like that on Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition?

Probably not, it could be a possibility with Mashup packs if 4J got more creative and released more. Also Adventure maps fall more into the category of mods which 4J said they won't do, but only 4J knows it would be a cool feature though. You should just get PC minecraft if you want Adventure Maps.
