My brother plays Minecraft on the Xbox 360 & after a while something started attacking him. It's like an invisible creature & it follows him everywhere. What is this & how can we defeat it?

It's a glitch. Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition is known to not load things properly or take a long time to load.
You're being hit by something but it's not showing up on your screen. If there are no sound effects, that's even more weird.
I would also make sure that your brother has a full belly because you can die from starvation, which may give you the illusion you're getting hit by something but you're really not.
