What is so good about minecraft?

I went on the xbox and played minecraft alone for three hours I usually only play games for 20 mins max I got a lot achieved and was happy but when I look back on it I still wonder how its so popular when the graphics are **** and very little happens in the game other than you collect stuff you loose it when you die and random monsters attack your work that took hours to make I love it so much but why?
I got a pc the other day what differences if any will be on to pc
Can I play the pc version with an xbox remote
Can I play split screen on pc
And what the hell is a dragon in it like do they attack you or can you tame them I've never encountered one

Dude, you made the biggest mistake in the world buying Minecraft for XBOX. If you can sell it and buy it for PC. It's so much more updated, supported, and has a range of more features. The version on Xbox was released on PC 1 year ago. The dragon your refereeing to is the Enderdragon, I'm not sure they have it on Xbox yet because it's so outdated, but you have to go to a different dimension, the End. Search it up. You can't tame it and it's really powerful and hard to kill.

The graphics are meant to be simple. You have the option on both Xbox and PC to play safe mode without having to worry about the games creatures destroying your work. The draw of the game, and the entire point, is that anything you can imagine you can build. Go watch some YouTube videos of things people have made(from working CPU's to movie recreations to games within the game). There are also villages and villagers, animals you can raise, crops you can plant, among countless other things. Think of the things you enjoy and use them for inspiration. I'm not sure if you can play split-screen on PC, however the PC version is and will always be a step ahead of the Xbox version due to easier updates, mods and so on. You can play the PC version with a controller, there are many tutorials around the internet explaining how. Give it time. The game may not be for you, but I'm betting if you keep at it you will soon find plenty to satisfy whatever it is you look for in a game. Hope I helped a little.

PC tends to be the best platform for Minecraft, and yes, you can do a split screen. You can't tame an Ender Dragon without a mod; they're basically the final boss of the game, except the game continues after you win. Honestly, the fun of Minecraft is the ability to create pretty much anything you want out of the resources around you. You have to use your resources to make armor, tools, and food, and build yourself a house that can withstand the monsters and look cool. You can craft chests so that you don't lose everything when you die. It's the ultimate exercise in survival. Look up some of the Let's Plays on Youtube, there's literally so much you can do and the game is updating with new stuff all the time. It's a great game.
