How do I setup minecraft on Xbox 360 for split screen without a live account?

Firstly you can only split screen on an HD tv, not sure why. If you have an HD make sure you have your xbox video settings set to at least 720p. Start the game and load your world. It should ask all players playing to press A. If you are already in game and want them to join have them press start and join in.

You have to create another account for your friend no need to make it Live, and use the second controller to sign in the new account you made. Start up minecraft go to a world and after that it will give a message "Press A for Split Screen"

You have to go into the advanced options when loading the game or world and you have to take it off of the online world once its not checked you should be able to play split screen with somebody who doesn't have Xbox Live
