Can the new drivers for Xbox One controller be used to play Minecraft? And if so how?

I'm trying to get the new official MS drivers working when i play Minecraft, the drivers work for my Xbox One controller but i can't get it to be used when i'm playing Minecraft.

Once the controller has been plugged into your computer with drivers instaled for that human interface device, it should be available within the menu. If not, Notch hasn't made Minecraft to run with a gamepad, yet.
