Guys i'm trying to play minecraft on my windows 8.1 laptop but it won't let me can i download older version of java or does it have to be the latest version if i can please put a link in your answer

You have to have java 7 but not update 51, Not sure how to get older versions though, you should Google it. Also why won't it let you get the newest version are you downloading it from the actual site? Https://www.java.com/en/download/ also are you installing it correctly?

Http://www.java.com and download the latest java update has security update included as well, i guess you already have the latest flash player and shockwave updates
