Will a PC refresh delete Minecraft?

I'm talking about a PC refresh (not factory reset), so it says it will keep files and stuff. So is Minecraft treated as a file or app? What about the saved worlds in Minecraft, are those files or part of the app? I guess I don't care if it deletes Minecraft, if I can still download it again and keep my the old worlds. BUt I do care if it deletes Minecraft along with the worlds.

P.S. I don't play or care that much for Minecraft. My brother doesn't want me to refresh the PC because he is afraid it will delete Minecraft and/or the worlds.

It is possible. If windows detects it as having any problems, it would remove it during the refresh. I would recommend going to your app data folder where the world of your minecraft are stored, and backing up the full ".minecraft" folder. That way you can still play it. Just redownload minecraft, put the.minecraft folder back in your appdata folder where it was previously located, and minecraft will be back to the way it was.

It won't delete it.

Refreshing your PC reinstalls Windows and keeps your personal files and settings. It also keeps the apps that came with your PC and the apps you installed.

Resetting your PC reinstalls Windows but deletes your files, settings, and apps-except for the apps that came with your PC.

But I'd still backup everything as good measure. You never know what might happen. Power failure during refresh could possibly send everything down the drain… Better safe than sorry.
