Why won't minecraft work?

I have bought minecraft for:
17.95 GBP but when I logged it let me downoad the launcher so I logged out after and it said play demo I signed back into my minecraft account on the website and it said buy minecraft or play the demo what should I do?

Did you buy the game from www.minecraft.net or www.mojang.com? If not, then you got ripped off.
