Why is my 260X not a whole lot better then intel 2500HD graphics?

I recently purchased an r7 260x 1GB GDDR5 OC edition card and my settings stayed the same since I had intergrated graphics game/intergrated fps/ 260x? Fps
TF2/45/110
Minecraft/35/60 (someone with a MUCH weaker gpu and a lower end cpu got a load more fps)?
L4D2/40/60
Hexxit(moded minecraft)/60/65
and Tactical Intervention which I will no longer play/30/42
I don't understand why my fps are not so dramatic increases
specs
i3-3220 3.3Ghz
6GB DDR3 1333mhz
r7 260x 1GB GDDR5 OC
and just a standard hard drive
motherboard is cheap but has features like sata 6GB/s and USB 3.0
I installed the drivers from the disk and when I decided to check windows for an update I got nothing!
I run all games at 1080p

Some games are CPU intensive, especially lower end games. Only the higher end games make use of full video card features. Thus, some games may only improve a little bit with better video cards.
Also, some games may have Vsync turned on, limiting FPS to 60, to match a monitor 60Hz refresh rate (Minecraft, L4D2?). Turning of Vsync will display more FPS usually.

Check at the amd website for the latest amd graphic card driver do not use windows update you'll really have a screw up graphic card, also i do agree with what the first answer is saying
