Why is Minecraft so hated?

I don't think many people hate Minecraft as a game, I think people hate the overexposure it gets. Feel like they can't avoid it.

Those who don't understand something tend to hate it. I'm a gamer, but i don't play minecraft. Just not my style of gaming preference.

It's hated not so much because of the game itself, but because of the fanbase, which is, by and large, young preteen boys, which is on of the most annoying groups of people to come across, especially online. And also because of all the weird clickbait-y videos you see on youtube often have minecraft somewhere in the thumbnail because it draws in people dumb enough to click on clickbait.
