When I open minecraft 1.7.4 the music plays then it just stays at a black screen and it doesn't open! I don't want to give up minecraft!

If you don't want to give up Minecraft then give up windows and move to Linux operating system. After all Minecraft is a Linux game

@Carling I really hope you just didn't say that… Its pretty safe to say that between Mac, Linux, Windows, Minecraft is by far downloaded the most on Windows. And I've never heard of it being called a Linux based game…

1. Go to start
2. Type %appdata%
3. Click.minecraft
4. Move the folder named "saves" to the desktop
5. Delete the.minecraft folder
6. Open minecraft
7. Go back into %appdata%
8. Go into.minecraft
9. Put your "saves" folder back
Done.
