I make video games and I've narrowed my ideas down to two. The first one is a game where you can travel between cities and do whatever you want, almost like Grand Theft Auto. Unlike GTA, this will be a lot more realistic, just not to the point where it isn't fun anymore. It will also be in first-person instead of third-person. The other game is a game where you are stuck in the middle of the wilderness and you need to survive. This game is nothing like Minecraft because it doesn't have any fantasy stuff and the world isn't made of blocks. I had the idea of both of these games before I had ever played Minecraft or GTA, so they won't be too much like either of those games. Which one sounds more fun?
Which game sounds more interesting?
Second game sounds like The Sims: Castaway. I loved that game, however, I loathe MineCraft which I think is due to the horrible graphics.
As for the 1st game I don't know what's the game about. Does the player have missions to do? Why would the player travel between cities? I can't say if it sounds interesting or not, there isn't enough information.
Either way, both games seem too similar to other games
the "realistic" game seems kinda boring or already too much like GTA or Fallout in modern day, and the survival game thing has already been done by lots of games with few successes or little popularity
what I suggest is to come up with more details within one of the two games and try to make them more original; so either fix the "realistic" one so it doesn't seem like a plain concept or go with the survival one
As others have said, they both sound very similar to other games. The first like Sims, the second like Fallout or Far Cry.
That being said, I think the second have more possibility for innovation.
And Display Name: Minecraft doesn't have bad graphics, its the art style.
