What JVM arguments are best for giving more memory to minecraft?

I just upgraded, and have 32GB of ram installed. I have set -Xmx 12G, and trying to travel on minecart just plain sucks.

What else could I do to make moving on the minecart more smooth?

YOU DO NOT NEED TO ALLOCATE ANYMORE RAM!

Seriously, for normal Minecarft, 3gb is plenty. Modded Minecraft with a tonne of mods, 8gb is enough. Allocating 12gb seems pointless

What are your computer specs like? Sounds like your CPU or GPU isn't good enough. No amount of RAM is going to change that
