I have a circle of friends that I like to game with. We used to play a lot of Halo, Borderlands, Minecraft, and others. Recently, they began to play League of Legends. At first, I resisted because I don't like to play games on my cheap laptop, but after some pushing, I made room for it and downloaded it. It works fine, fortunately. However, I've only played it for about 2-3 hours because I simply don't understand why it's so fun. It's entertaining, but it's just not that fun. My friends insist that the reason I don't like it is because I'm bad at it (true) but I wasn't really that bad, and I'm bad at other games I enjoy (minecraft). I just don't understand why it's so fun. I've tried several characters, but it just seems so repetitive. Why is this game so appealing to millions of people, and how do you think I should enjoy this game? By that, I mean, is there something I should do to make me like it more, because I practically have to beg my friends to play another game with me now.
What is the appeal of League of Legends?

Same thing happened to me, lots of people I know play it so I tried it myself and gave up 2 weeks later. It's definitely more fun when you're good at it, but as you level up and play more you get matched with better people and never seem to get really good at the game. I find it extremely repetitive, as you end up playing with the same characters on the same map and saving up points until you can buy another champion and do the same thing over again. Other than the factor of addiction and always having a new champion to unlock, I really don't understand the long tern appeal to the game. It was fun for a bit at least.

Even though you might constantly play on the same map, Summoner's Rift, every game is different.
