What is Quake Pro in Minecraft & what is FOV?

I have looked a lot n the internet and no one has seemed to answer the question exactly. So help please!

FOV means field of view (the bigger the number, the more you can see on your screen) and that 'quake pro' thing… Its supposed to be a joke, i guess? Its the maximum FOV.
