I was thinking about buying this laptop for minecraft and just messing around with. But I didn't know if it can run minecraft without a lot of lag and I was just wondering if anybody knew.

It probably would be ok but you would probably need to get more ram put in it. That laptop can be upgraded to 16 gb of ram. I would always recommend a desktop though. Then you can upgrade all the parts as you need to easily. You can only upgrade the ram and hard drive in that laptop, not the video card.
One of my mates has a laptop with similar specs and its horrible for Minecraft.
And i've had bad experiences with Toshiba Satellites laptops and all of them cost more than that.

I have never owned this computer but it should run Minecraft fairly decent. But may experience lag here and there but not much though. Just make sure you have a good internet connection if you are going to play online. If an xbox 360 with less specs can run it then this computer should as well.
