A friend just asked me how I edit Minecraft skins in Gimp and I told them that I just use 1000% zoom. They told me that Gimp can't even zoom that much so I took a screenshot to prove it to them. But then I got curious. I know I can't zoom 100,000 times or 50,000 times but I got it up to 11,000 before I gave up. So what exactly is the max?

I'm using Gimp 2.8.6. For Windows and my max zoom is 1600%

But why does it matter? Who cares? All you will see is huge square pixels.
Looks like it depends on what version you are actually using anyway.
