Why won't my minecraft server work (linux)?

This is the ouput the terminal gives me when i launch./minecraft.sh: line 1: -Xmx1024M: command not found
this is the code of minecraft.sh
-Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar /home/family/Downloads/UntitledFolder/minecraft_server.jar nogui.
also the jar is in the right place.
