Tax documents paypal 2013?

I registered my paypal as a business account and registered my Minecraft server as a business because I legally had to in order to collect any more money via PayPal… So I was planning on going to an accountant, but I just logged into PayPal and realized I had a notification for tax information.

"Tax year:

Here are your 2013 tax documents.

DocumentDescription
You have no 2013 tax documents."

Does that mean I didn't make enough money to have to pay taxes on what I made? I made about $9,700 not including the money PayPal took and business expenses. In profit I probably had about $6,000. Do I have to pay taxes, how do I go about doing it if PayPal didn't give me any documents?

No, it means that you didn't make enough for them to have to send you a 1099K. If you made over four hundred dollars, you have to file. You're Way over that. You file from the info in your own records that you were legally required to keep.

Get to an accountant.

As this is income from self-employment, you must file and pay if you make over $400 for the year.

So yes, you have to file and pay.

You do not need tax documents from PayPal. You file based on your own records.

It just means that you didn't make enough to trigger reporting by PayPal. You still must report the income and pay taxes on it. You use your business records to prepare your return. The self-employment tax on $6,000 of profit is about $878. If this is your only income for the year there won't be any income taxes due.

FYI, some payers don't provide copies to the taxpayer if they are below the threshold but still report the earnings to the IRS. You're playing with fire if you don't report it on your tax return.

Yes, you have to pay taxes. Do so from your records.
