New Minecraft account problems?

I just got a real Minecraft account (on a computer), but I downloaded the game a while ago and I have been playing offline already. But I have a few questions about how to play now that I'm online:

There has never been music or sounds in my game, and whenever I try to turn them on it just exits out of the game. I thought when I bought it this would be fixed, but it isn't. Why?

How do you make a Minecraft server?

Is there any other way to play with someone on a different computer?

How come no servers ever show up?

Do I have to download the game again to fix these problems?

your game shutting down is probably a bug… Report it maybe

to make a server go to minecraft.net and download a folder called minecraft_server.exe… Just as you got the launcher. Its very complicated to make one so follow the instructions on the minecraft wiki

there's one more way to play online called LAN mode… The other person has to be using the same internet connection s you… You can use Wi-Fi or LAN cable… Just press escape and select "Open To LAN" on either computer. Then have the other person go to the title menu and press multiplayer and your world name should show up with "LAN World under it"

as for Servers not showing up. They don't show up on their own because minecraft is a game of private servers and there's no actual official servers… So you have to find a server you like… Maybe on internet lists or servers made by popular minecraft channels on youtube or by your friends. And they will mention an ip address wit the name… Use it to add the server… http://minecraftservers.net/ is a good place to get started… Or there's fb page called Minecraft Fans who frequently advertise servers.

Get the new launcher, it's way better. Making your own server, I'd hold off on that it's a pain in the. Well, you know. Servers. YOu have to find the IPs. Yea, re download the game.
