Minecraft problem: failed to login: authentication servers down MAC?

So whenever i try to connect to a server it says Failed to Login: Authentication Servers are down. Help? I'm on a mac. Please i need help i want to play multiplayer had this for a few days now. ;'

Try removing your.minecraft folder (i'm not sure how on mac but there has to be a way) and try it. If it doesn't work, make sure your java is not blocked by firewall or anything or try a different version (mods and servers usually don't work together btw)

If you try to connect public server, you should check for the version of server's game that you try to login and then open up the same version of your game from bottom left side of client game and then try to login.
If problem is same then check out, you must allow game to access local network setting when you first time start game after installation.
