Minecraft 1.8 Server Port-Forwarding Issue?

I made a Minecraft 1.8 server. I can connect on my computer but my friends can't. I port-forwarded. I think I messed something up. Any idea?

If nobody outside your network can join you didn't port forward correctly

Well you did something wrong if your friends can't connect and btw the version of minecraft has nothing to do with portforwarding the port is always the same. If you can't port forward I would suggest using Hamachi it's great and easy.
