I've tried EVERYTHING, how can I port forward?

I used to be able to port forward like a pro on my MacBook, where I just used PortMap and I didn't have to use my router. But recently, I switched over to PC. I quit Minecraft for a little while, until recently when my friends asked me to make a server like old times. However, I just can't port it. I've tried using my router settings, nothing. I've tried using multiple 3rd party apps, nothing. I've even tried making it on my MacBook with PortMap again, nothing. The port just WON'T OPEN! I really need help! If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated!

My router: Buffalo AirStation WZR-HP-G300NH

Did you follow instructions on "Portforward.com"?

read EVERY line, do exactly what is says…

Then, make sure the PC firewall has those same ports opened up inbound.

Newer version of Windows also have firewalls built-in to them or their anti-virus software. So The port forwarding may be correct on your router but your PC's firewall is blocking it at that point.
