I downloaded the building game for minecraft?

I'm on it but I don't know how to get my friends on the server because it's on single player like it told me to download it on.

I'm too. What is the building game? And you must mean lan by single player but since you can't describe what is actually going on I have no clue of how to help you or what you're saying.
